No. They are two completely different terms.
Vegan skincare products are not produced from an animal or animal byproducts.
So, they don’t include traditional ingredients like beeswax, honey, collagen, lanolin, and keratin.
So, does a vegan product also mean a cruelty-free product?
Not always.
Cruelty-free means a product or its ingredients have not been tested on animals by a supplier, manufacturer, producer, or any third-party entity.
Some brands may be cruelty-free without being vegan.
So, if you’re looking for a skincare brand that’s both vegan and cruelty-free, look for an explicit mention of the same.
StelAnore is both PETA certified for vegan and cruelty-free. And we’ve very explicitly mentioned it in all our brand communications.
But let’s talk about you here.
How do you benefit when you use a vegan, cruelty-free product?
Vegan skincare products are rich in vitamins filled with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties since they typically contain fewer ingredients.
Fewer ingredients lower the chances of breakouts and allergies — hence, it is a great skincare option if you have sensitive skin.
Not just that, vegan & cruelty skincare products are also super kind to the environment.
We strongly recommend that if you haven’t shifted to vegan skincare, NOW is the time
